-To provide funds for the
production of work of art to mark the milliennium. The Ministry has allocated $
10 million for the Fund.
-Individual professional artists
and art organizations in all disciplines, creating works with relevancy to the
milliennium.
-Wide appeal (particularly
amongst youth) and external financial support are important criteria.
-Intent is to produce works with
lasting and positive impact on Canadians and to enhance collections, public
places, and repertories.
-Council uses jury systems and
the criteria of artistic merit to adjudicate applications.
-Funds to be committed over 3
years.
